Today I have learned several (at least a couple) cool new things:
1) I have found a great way to hide those pesky bra straps when wearing a tank top. Simply slide a bobby pin onto your tank top strap and make sure the bra strap gets hooked in, too! I put the bobby pins about where my shoulder blades are, so they wouldn't be seen in the front. Worked like a charm. I think I'm going to start a trend. I wonder if I could market them in clear...The Bra Pin, The Strap Strapper, The Most Amazing Bobby Pin! Well, the name needs a little work, but I feel like a genius! :)
2) You can go to the front desk at the Student Center of Southwestern and they'll give you a little cup of fish food to feed the fish in the pond--for free! The only fish that ate were the little tiny ones, not the big koi that stayed down in the cooler water at the bottom. But there were tons of little fish. At one point, I had thrown food all over the pond, and there were bubbles everywhere from all the fish going for the food!
3) This one's still tentative; jury's out 'til suppertime. But I think I found a new way to cook chicken. I read a recipe and then thought I would sort of make a variation. I put hot water, butter, garlic, chicken buillion, and dill (left over from the pickles) in a casserole dish and then the chicken and I'm baking "at 350 until golden brown." :) Or at least until it's not pink in the middle. We'll see how it turns out in maybe another 20 or 30 minutes. I'm hoping the chicken buillion adds flavor and juiciness to the chicken, and the dill a little extra tang.
So those are my discoveries for today! Therefore, go ye out and change the world with what ye have learned herein! :)
Hippotherapy for James

Contrary to popular belief, "hippotherapy" is therapy using horses, not
hippos.
James LOVES horses, so I was excited to start hippotherapy at Hope Landing ...

So how was the chicken??? The fish feeding is so fun! I dont know about the bra strap thing...since you can see it and all, but if it was clear!! That would be great. I got this dress the other day with the coolest thing. It had this little half loop of fabric with a snap so you unsnapped it, but your bra strap inside the loop and resnapped it back, and it held your strap in place so it didnt fall off the shoulder! I thought that was really cool. I cant wait for you to come to waco :)
ReplyDeleteThe chicken was okay. The flavors weren't very strong, which makes me worry a little about my pickles. I used a lot of dill in the chicken, and didn't get much flavor, and not a whole lot of dill in the pickles. Maybe the 8 weeks will help get the flavors out better.
ReplyDeleteSo was the loop of fabric inside the dress so no one could see it, or was it decorative in some way? That's a really good idea. I bet we could figure out how to make something similar....hm...
It was inside, like on the underside of the strap, right on top of the shoulder. I was very impressed.
ReplyDeleteso are you walking around with those clips all over you now? :)
ReplyDeleteWell...no...but I actually might if I were to wear a tank top again. :) You see, the good thing about never having been in fashion is that it really doesn't bother me to not be in fashion now. And the good thing about being an artist is that I get to make up my own fashion! So the two put together means I can wear bobby pins on my tank top with confidence, and actually believe it just might catch on. :)
ReplyDeleteHA !!!! Discussing bra straps in public ???? HA !!
ReplyDeleteG'pa
I'm afraid I am going to have to side with G'pa on this one. Discussing bra straps in public is a bit unseemly.
ReplyDeleteSteve, you and Grandpa just wait. I'm going to be a millionaire from my great bra strap idea! :) Either that or someone else has read my idea and is patenting it right now for their own....hm....well, next blog I'll talk about something besides women's undergarments.
