- It's too cold
- There are people I need to talk to and "catch up" with
- I get full eating good food with Karen
- Karen and I talk about non-work stuff, like Hobby Lobby or Central Texas Marketplace, and I want to go there instead of back to work
- John works just downstairs, and I have to say hi!
Things that make me want to not work when I'm at home:
- It's too hot
- Jon is playing and enjoying summer
- The kitties are both napping, which makes me SO sleepy
- Mess distracts me (though I usually don't do anything about it once I'm off work)
- Fun projects tantalize me (painting just 7 feet away from me!)
I'm doomed!
But wait! It's the end of the work day for me, and I'm off until next Wednesday!!
Goodbye computer! Goodbye hard chair! Hello sleepy kitties and painting project!!
Hooray!!
My feelings about work/no work:
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm at work I want to be at home;
when I'm at home I don't want to do the work I need to;
I'd rather piddle at home than do work;
when I'm at work I'd rather work than piddle.
But now I'm free for three weeks...hooray!
Hmm...when I'm at work, I always have something to comment on other's blogs. Now I'm at home and trying not to think about work... so I can't think of anything to comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of that Shel Silverstein poem... I cannot go to school today...I have the measles and the bumps, my face is covered in purple bumps...wait, you say today is Saturday? OK, I'm going out to play!
ReplyDeleteOh, whoops, I meant "measles and the munps." Did you hear there was an outbreak of the mumps in like Ohio or something?
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool picture! What are you going to do on your week off? Too bad we can't go to Austin and take the kitties. Speaking of which, Tim and Laura got another cat, named Olivia, she is black and puffy :) When I am at work I can't post comments since blogs are blocked...but I can read them! Haha, Google Reader and I have thwarted the blocking system!
ReplyDeleteFRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY!
