Creative Resolutions

*Note: I wrote this on January 2nd, but completely forgot about it. I don't know why I didn't just post it...maybe I had something very deep and meaningful to add to it? Couldn't tell ya. So, here it is now.
-----

I am trying to avoid resolutions this year, because I usually forget them after the first week. Not because I decide not to follow them; I really forget them. And writing it down doesn't help if you never go back and look at it. I suppose I could write them all on my bathroom mirror, but...nah...

However, there is a list of good resolutions from CreativePro.com. It's geared toward freelancing graphic designers, but you can all read them and adjust them to your situation. Here's their list.

  1. Yeah, I would say resolutions are not for you since you forgot about the post, let alone the resolutions.

I had a thought that you should design dvds. You know the menues, graphics and such. Sounds fun to me! =)

  2. Ah, iDVD is a great program for that. Of course, you're limited to their templates, so creating your own would be super fun, too.

I like the resolutions, but they don't seem very quantifiable, know what I mean? I need something where I can easily track my progress to actually feel like the resolution was worth it.

  3. I can apply most of that to myself. Especially thank the people you work with and for and reconnect with the love of it. Because I did originally do this job because I love working with kids. I just forget that most days. :)

  4. I'm going to use the last 3 to get to the place in my life where I can teach because I want to, not because I have to. Pretty burned out right now (not with teaching, just the admin stuff). Need a new vision.
