Feeling a little Scrooge-y

It's 10 days before Christmas, my family was here this past weekend celebrating, and I don't have a shred of a Christmas decoration up! The plan was to put it all up mid-November, before Caleb came, but that didn't happen. Then I was on bedrest until Caleb's birth, then I was healing up, and now, well, I'm doing good to get a shower before noon. I love decorating for Christmas, so it feels very weird in my house. That said, I do not regret it! It's a crazy time of year, and I've had to rearrange my priorities a bit to stay sane.

I'm making up for it by playing my Christmas music--almost 200 songs!--all day long. With that many songs, it makes for a pretty good mix!

  1. Well, you don't have to worry about Caleb not having decorations at his first Christmas because, well, he won't remember it! And look at it this way, you're not even spending Christmas at your house this year.

I feel like I have to rearrange my priorities every day, actually! I wake up thinking certain things should get done that day, and admittedly sometimes a shower is not one of them. But at the end of the day, I don't worry so much about what didn't get done... celebrate the small things and love on that baby! :-)

  2. Yeah, we didn't go too Christmas-y this year. Kinda weird when you're not going to be around to enjoy it. Maybe hang your stockings if you know where they are and get a poinsettia to put out. Call it done and rock your son! =)

  4. This close to Christmas, it's hardly worth the effort! Just don't dust for a few weeks and call it fake snow. And you can remind yourself- Jesus didn't have any Christmas decorations on his first Christmas, either!

  5. It's not too late, if you'd like one Christmas decorator (or babysitter) I'd be more than happy to help. I'm free this evening or tomorrow, I'm at your disposal sweet Scrooge of mine. And even if you don't, Christmas music does go a long way in spreading Christmas cheer. Or...a Christmas movie with me sometime might be just what the doctor ordered. I have a little something for you too...
