Brought to you by the letters I-K-E-A

Yesterday I met up with Margie to shop the day away! It was so much fun! Margie introduced me to Sam Moon. Crazy place! I found some great buys, but it was pretty overwhelming. From here on out I think I'll stick to the smaller Compass here in my own town. Which Margie also introduced me to, now that I think about it. That girl loves jewelry.

After Sam Moon we ventured over to IKEA. What a great place! I decided to add accents of orange to my house, and had a small budget to spend that day, so it made for a really fun shopping trip. We'd scan all that we could see, and if we spotted orange, we'd go over and check it out. If it was pretty and cheap, we'd toss it in the basket. If we liked it but it took too much of my budget, I put it on a wish list to get sometime in the future. We came away with some really fun things! I haven't put them up in the house yet, because if things go the way I think they're going, we won't be living here much longer. So my new orange purchases will stay in their packages until we get where we're going.

I had such a great day with Margie. I could never have made it through IKEA by myself, and she was a good person to help me stay on my budget (mostly...) and pick fun things. Plus it was a great time for she and I to hang out, which we don't get to do enough of these days! I came home pooped, encouraged, and excited about my new orange IKEA purchases.

  1. IKEA is fun. Sam Moon is just a microcosm of China I feel like. Take Sam Moon and IKEA in Dallas and multiply them by about a bazillion Asians and that is how IKEA is in China...overwhelming!!!...but one of the only places you can get good candles that will overtake the sewer gas smell in the bathroom.

  2. Oh, Ikea, how fun you are. Glad you had a good time and got some fun treats. Ugh, Sam Moon, sometimes fun, but mostly overwhelming.

There's some other jewelery store my sister told me about that we went to. They have it set up by color and it's still pretty cheap and fun. Maybe next time...

  3. I am sad we won't get to see your new orange accents on display at Thanksgiving. Maybe we can see them in the boxes?

  4. Well they don't really go with our floral blue couch...that will have to go before we can bring out the orange! But sure, you can see them in the boxes. :) There's really not that much.

I can't wait to see you!

  7. Hi Lyd! I had fun too...o my feet hurt though afterwards. I think you did great, even if you went $7 over. You were focused and got some great deals. Sam Moon really wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be but I agree - the size of Compass is much better but the experience of Sam Moon is worth having. If I focus on what I like I can zone the other sections out (bags, wallets, etc.) Usually I'm a dangly earrings kind of gal and I love seeing what I can get for $10. Same thing with Hobby Lobby. I don't mind getting lost. And Caleb was awesome (love his haircut by the way). Thankful for our fun memory, now we just need to get that tree up missie! -Margie
