Happy Birthday Friday!!

Today is Friday's first birthday!! How do I know this? Well, I don't for sure. But the vet's office estimated 7/11/05 as Friday's birthday. What is interesting about that, is that I actually remember 7/11/05. In the Summer of No Jobs, the days pretty much blended together, but Leanna had told us that since we were in Ft. Worth, we should go to the 7/11 and get a Slurpee on 07/11, so we did!

So, perhaps, while Jon was enjoying his Darth Vader Slurpee, and I my watermelon-pineapple, little Friday was being born!

I thought about putting pictures of Friday up here, sort of a chronology of events, but you've probably seen them all in some form or another in other posts. So instead, for those of you who don't know, I thought I'd tell you where kittens come from.....

That's right...Pier 1!

Happy Birthday little kitty-o-mine!!!

  1. Yay! Happy Birthday to Friday! Gosh, it seems like his birthday should always be on a Friday, though. :-)

What's in a Darth Vader slurpee? Sigh, I miss 7-11 from Ft. Worth. I always liked to mix all the flavors.

  2. Oh, man, and if kitties come from Pier One, no wonder they are so expensive!

  3. Karen,
I had first decided his birthday would be on the 3rd Friday of July, but that was kind of hard to remember. And then I realized the vet's bills (expensive, indeed) had his bday on July 11th, which IS easy to remember for me, so that's how it happened! :)

  4. What a nice kitty playing in the bag. :) He is looking all grown up! Did he get a cake he could play in for his first birthday?

  5. We got him a cookie cake. It was funny asking for "Happy 1st Birthday, Friday!" to be put on it. We served it at our house Sunday night after church. And believe me, Friday tried to play in it! We had to shoo him away several times.

Instead of cake, we gave him treats. He's finally found some he likes--Greenies. Of course, he picks the most expensive kind!! I had bought a sample of them at Petco. I guess I better get him a big bag of them for his birthday. :)

And, for the record, we still celebrated 7/11 Day--this time with Dr. Pepper Slurpees. :)

  7. Isn't it fun that our parents are our pet's grandparents? I thought mine wouldn't like the idea, but they think its funny. Cliff's grandmother asks about her great-grand dog. And I think my mom and dad are getting attached to Gracie. She said we might have to file for adoption to take her home.

  8. Well, this just looks like such a good pet program. How long is your camp? Do you have any breed restrictions, is it only open to cats? What is the camp fee? I have several friends that would be interested in having a pet day camp!

How exciting and thanks for sharing.
