300th Post!! And a Giveaway!

This is my 300th post!! I started blogging in June of 2005, after we'd moved here and half-way through our Summer of No Jobs. I was much more contemplative back then, when I had lots of time and God was humbling me with my inability to secure a job. Then involvement at church came, the job (and the cat!) came, and my busy life turned my blog into small (mostly silly) glimpses of my life. Despite that, my readership has grown from about six readers a day to about twenty-six readers a day, and I've actually made a few friends from blogging!

One of those friends is my sort-of cousin, Lorie. Following her blogaversary tradition, I'm arranging a giveaway! Post a comment here, and in one week (Thursday, Sept. 18th), I'll put all the names of the commenters in a hat and draw out one (or more!) winners. And what will you win, you ask??

Magnets!

Okay, if you're family, you probably already have some, but who couldn't use more magnets?? I happen to have a few left over from a certain entrepreneurial idea that Leanna and I had, so you just might win them! And if you have absolutely no desire for magnets, well, they make good stocking stuffers or gifts for coworkers. So leave a comment and have fun!

Thanks for reading!

  6. I love to read your blog. It is the only way that I can keep up with you and all that you are doing. By the way I also LOVE magnets. I used to have tons of them. JUst ask Karen. I finally had to put some of them up because we couldn't even see the fridge. Contrats on your 500th blog. Maybe someday I will start one up for myself. Keep up the blogging and get to 1000.

  7. I LOVE the magnets. LOVE THEM LOVE THEM LOVE THEM. I MUST WIN, MUST MUST MUST... in fact, I was thinking the other day that I needed some more of your cute magnets... someday soon, I'll need to put Ian's artwork on the fridge, so what better cause? Featuring your nephew's art? He already takes after his Aunt Lydia, the little otter that he is. All of this to say, I know the drawing might be random, but can't you spin it for a dear sis-in-law? I mean, I'd be willing to PAY for them, and if you and Lea were still setting up to sell them, I would buy them from you! Do I sound pathetic, yet? :-)

  8. Whoa... I just went to check and see how many posts I had, and I'm up to 381 plus 161 on my pregnancy blog! Who knew? I don't know how I surpassed you since I was so reluctant to start one in the beginning, but THANKS SO MUCH for getting me started because I love it. And by the way, I WANT THOSE MAGNETS!!!!!

  9. Hey, wait a minute! I don't have ANY of those magnets! How did that happen? :)

Congratulations on your 300th blog. I'm glad you started me on it, too, as I keep up with extended friends and family. You are a great writer/photographer/blogger and I always enjoy reading your posts. I even have some friends who lurk every day b/c they love your blog!

  10. @Karen: I can't believe you passed me up, either! Well, at one point, I had four blogs going, so maybe that makes up for it...not in quantity, but in effort. :) Just like your effort for magnets...I MAY have to give you a set for Ian. Maybe. :)

And Momma, I can't believe you don't have a set! I honestly don't know how that happened! Consider it remedied the next time I see you!

Okay, now no more begging, or I won't have any left to give away! Haha!

  13. I echo Christie Lynn, you could even make a special set of magnets for teachers. I don't have any idea how many posts I have but I started about that same time too. I wonder if I can check since I switched sites in the middle. hmmm....

  14. Hey I thought it was not for family members. If so, that excludes Karen and Carolyn. Right :) I know that is a pathetic way to say that I want the magnets and I did post twice. Does that get me in the pot twice.

  15. Ooooh, I'm a magnet fanatic and those are cute! I even have my own magnets that the kids aren't allowed to play with. How goofy am I?

And congrats on 300! I'm getting close, I think. I will have to check and see. A giveaway is a good idea! I might steal it...

  17. Yay on reaching 300! Please put my name in the hat. Then, send me magnets even if I don't win. Why? Because I'm cute. And because I like magnets. And because if you don't, I'll pout.
